3 Easy Wrap Ideas

Wraps are a quintessential part of quick lunches. What can be easier than throwing food into a delicious tortilla and stuffing your face with it?? Here at the restaurant we are embracing the idea of wraps to switch up the traditional burger for something lighter and healthier. As much as we all love burgers they can be a little tight on the waistline. We have put together 3 different wraps that we have tried here at the restaurant that can easily be replicated at home with what you probably already have in the fridge or freezer. Enjoy!

The Burger Wrap

Of course we still have to have a burger wrap! Who says you have to stop eating burgers to be a little healthier? What you can use in the wrap is really up to you and what you have hiding in the fridge. Leftover taco meat? Perfect. Burgers from that BBQ a couple days ago? Excellent choice. You don't have to cook up some fresh burgers just for this wrap. However I won't tell you how to live your life so cook up some fresh ones if you so desire! You can pre prep these wraps to have for lunch over the next few days! This recipe does call for freshly cooked hamburgers but feel free to switch up the ingredients if you wish to do so.

- 1 Tortilla (We use 10 inch tortillas)

- 2-3 oz Shredded Lettuce

- Sprinkle of Bacon Bits Or 1 Strip

- 1/2 Tomato Chopped

- 1 Hamburger Patty

- Sprinkle of Shredded Cheese

- Sauce Of Choice (We went with a classic BBQ sauce)

  1. Cook the hamburger patty to desired doneness. After resting the patty for a couple minutes slice into strips as thinly as possible.

  2. Grill the tortilla (Optional) and layer with Lettuce, Chopped Tomatoes, Bacon, Sliced Burger Patty, Cheese, & top with your sauce of choice!

  3. Wrap the tortilla into a nice neat package and enjoy!

Southwest Chicken Wrap

Bringing the South to your kitchen! We love the use of the chicken strips in this case because they are easy to pull out of the freezer and either bake or deep fry. A great add on to this recipe would be to throw in some black beans to really give it that southern feel. If you don't have jalapeno candied bacon bits like we do around here the best alternative is to toss some regular crushed up bacon bits in your favorite hot sauce.

- 1 Tortilla

- 2-3 oz Shredded Lettuce

- Sprinkle of Spicy Bacon Bits or 1 Strip

- 2 Tyson Chicken Strips Sliced

- 2 Scoops of your favorite salsa

- Sprinkle of Shredded Cheddar

  1. Cook the chicken strips either in the deep fryer at 350 for roughly 4-5 minutes or bake in the oven at 375 for 9-10 minutes. Once cooked slice the chicken into thin strips.

  2. Grill the tortilla (Optional) then layer with the lettuce, spicy bacon bits, chicken, salsa, and cheese.

  3. Wrap this bad boy up and enjoy right then or wrap it up for lunch the next day!

BLT Ranch Wrap

The lightest of the 3 and probably the most popular this simple BLT wrap is a staple in the wrap community. This one takes the least amount of time to prep especially if you have some leftover bacon lying around after that delicious breakfast you made yesterday. Stay tuned in later blog posts about a homemade ranch that we absolutely adore!

- 1 Tortilla

- 3-4 oz shredded Lettuce

- 2-3 strips of Bacon

- 1/2 chopped Tomato

- 1 oz of your favorite ranch dressing

  1. Grill your tortilla (Optional) then layer with your, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and drizzle your ranch dressing on top!

  2. Thats it! Wrap it up and enjoy your creation.
